Kenneth Williams Biography

Kenneth Williams stays "on the run" as an active member of his
community, serving as president of Corinth Coca-Cola Bottling Works and Refreshments, Inc., doing economic development work and training for the 28 marathons he has completed.

A life-long resident of Corinth, Miss., Kenneth has worked for the family-owned business since he graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1963. His civic activities include past Chairman of the Mississippi Economic Council, past Rotary District Governor and founder of the Corinth Cola-Cola Classic 10K Race in 1982.

Kenneth began long-distance running nearly thirty years ago and has competed in many of the larger marathons in the U.S. including Boston and New York, and international marathons including Canada, England, Germany and Greece. He has also coached many first-time marathoners to the finish line.

For his next great race, Kenneth will attempt to run the entire length of Mississippi, nearly 400 miles, to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and to generate donations to support Boys & Girls Clubs physical education programs across the state. The program, called Step With It! Mississippi, will begin in Corinth on September 20, 2004, Kenneth's 63rd birthday and finish near Gulfport in late October.

Kenneth's love of marathons takes him all over the world, including this one in Greece (LEFT) and Boston (RIGHT)

Kenneth is married to Nancy Ann, his wife of 41 years, and has four children and 10 grandchildren. In addition to running, he enjoys playing blues harmonica, duck hunting and writing.
